Hello crafters!
This tutorial will show you how to make your own crochet bow! Now you can accessorize your kids, pets and even yourself with our favourite thing ever : YARN 🙂
My pattern has three variations to give you three different sized bows small, medium and large.
Let’s get to it!
Supplies
- Bernat Softee Baby Colours in “Red Rainbow”
- Bernat Softee Baby in “Lemon”
- Size 3.5mm crochet hook
Any weight category 3 yarn will work for this pattern. The completed bows that are shown are made from the colours listed above but for the steps of the photo tutorial I used:
- Loops and Threads Snuggly Wuggly in “Dark Turquoise”
- Loop and Threads Snuggly Wuggly in “Dove Grey”
Pattern for Crochet Bow
These crochet bows are constructed from two separate pieces; the bow itself and the wrap around the middle. Follow my pattern for whichever size bow you would like to make and then I will show you how to assemble the pieces below.

Large (4.5 inches wide)
Main Piece

Repeat Row 3 13 more times so that you have 15 rows of single crochet. Tie off leaving 5 inch tail.
Wrap

Assembling Your Crochet Bow
- Take the main section of your bow and bring the two ends together to make a loop. Slip stitch these ends together.
- Get your second colour of yarn and starting at the back work a row of single crochet around both the top and the bottom of your main piece.Â
- Before attaching the middle wrap you will want to fold your main piece into more of a bow shape so that it is easier to fasten the middle wrap. Simply pinch the top and bottom edges forward into the center of the bow.Â
- Now take your wrap and fold it around the center of your bow.Â
- Slip stitch the two ends of the wrap together behind the bow.And there you have it!
Ways to Use Your Crochet Bows
The oppourtunities to use these bows are countless! I’m using mine to accessorize my fur baby with a new bowtie collar but you can make hair bows, bowties, decorations for crochet items or even use them to add a finishing touch to your wrapped gifts!
